This month marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.

I’ve been watching a series of TV specials marking the anniversary: I Am MLK JrKing in the Wilderness, and Hope & Fury.

I’ve read many books on Dr. King and the civil rights movement, but it’s been years since I read them, and the video footage is a good refresher, and very powerful.

Whether or not you are familiar with the story of Dr. King and the civil rights movement, I strongly recommend these movies/TV specials. It’s always inspiring to see and hear about one of the most amazing people to have ever walked the earth. And because there is still so much progress still to be made, it may help you think of ways you can act to be a leader—to help make the world a more just place.
